Regular price £52.80

Hand spun Wensleydale art yarn, hand-washed and hand-dyed by Holly Waterman and spun by Jude Cooper.

Using premium Wensleydale hand sorted locks, Jude spun up an entire fleece - and we've listed the skeins separately for you - varying weights.

Jude says 'I have spend my life in amongst the mountains and coastlines of my native Wales, when the time came to change my career as an outdoor educator it seemed only natural, to create things that are naturally steeped in that environment,
I love the  wandering mountain sheep ,the Heather and the gorge  in the autumn , The Craggy Mountain sides and lightens that grow on them, The heavy clouds scudding over the  tops, The deep ravines and the waterfalls that pour down then ,the rowan tree hanging its head over the pool, stormy winter beach,These things inspire my work both texturally as well as visually,”Merch i'r mynyddoedd ydw i”(I am a daughter of the mountains) and feel that I can i Imbue my yarns with the magic of these wield  places.

I spin my yarns in an ancient barn that my husband and I made into our home a few years back it sits nestled into the hillside looking to the high mountains on one side and the sea on the other with our welsh collies is nestled at my feet.
We have a Word in Welsh “hiraeth” it means feeling of nostalgic belonging and I hope yarns become part of your hiraeth'

Please look through the weighs and lengths and make your selection.  This is beautiful wool!

Packaging

Wherever possible we will use paper packaging

However, Europe, US, Canada and Rest of World, it is not always possible to use paper due to the soft contents of the package.  If this is the case, we use 90 micron polythene mailbags.  Recycling guide: LDPE 4 (Low density polyethylene).

Low-density polyethylene, or LDPE, is number 4-coded plastic, commonly used to manufacture shopping bags, dry cleaning bags and flexible bottles and lids.  Although not as commonly recycled as number 1 polyethylene terephthalate or number 2 high-density polyethylene, LDPE recycling is gaining traction as its post-consumer uses increase. One use is combining recycled LDPE with wood to create composite lumber suitable for light applications. All these plastics can be recycled into different products, but of the three, LDPE results in the most greenhouse gas savings when it's recycled.

But please - do not put number 4 LDPE plastic into a recycling bin unless you are sure it is accepted. Otherwise, you could contaminate an entire batch of recycled plastic.
